Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Kendo ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and contributors of the Service.

2. Description of Service

Kendo is an AI-powered receipt scanning application that allows you to photograph receipts, automatically extract transaction data, categorize spending, convert currencies, and generate reports. The Service is available as a mobile application and a web platform.

3. Account Registration

To use Kendo, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate or incomplete information.

4. Subscription Plans & Payments

Kendo offers both free and paid subscription plans. The free plan includes a limited number of receipt scans per month. Paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business) offer additional features and higher limits.

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically unless cancelled.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time. Access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge for refund requests.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, fraudulent, or violates any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our consent
  • Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
  • Impersonate another person or entity

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to Kendo, including receipt images and data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload the content you provide and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

7. Workspaces & Team Features

Kendo allows you to create workspaces and invite other users to collaborate. As a workspace owner or admin, you are responsible for managing access and ensuring appropriate use by team members.

  • Owners have full control over workspace settings, members, and data.
  • Admins can manage members and view all receipts within the workspace.
  • Members can view only their own receipts within shared workspaces.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, logos, and content (excluding user-uploaded content), is owned by Kendo and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written consent.

9. Service Availability

We strive to keep Kendo available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kendo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy of OCR results, currency conversions, or spending categorizations. You should verify critical financial data independently.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service.

You may delete your account at any time. Upon account deletion, your personal data and receipt images will be removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating this page and the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
